Job Overview :

As a Business Systems Analyst at Optum, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our healthcare solutions by analyzing business needs, translating them into technical requirements, and ensuring successful implementation. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to drive process improvements and support strategic initiatives.

Optum – Required Qualifications & Skills :

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA) are a plus.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Technical Proficiency: Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), data analysis, and system integration concepts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with healthcare systems and industry regulations.
  • Knowledge of data analytics and reporting tools.
  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in business process modeling and requirements documentation.
  • Familiarity with Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies.
  • Experience with tools such as Microsoft Visio, JIRA, or similar.

Roles and Responsibilities :

  • Requirements Analysis: Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into detailed functional and technical requirements.
  • System Design: Develop and document system specifications and business process flows. Create use cases and user stories to guide development.
  • Project Coordination: Participate in project planning and management, ensuring timely and successful delivery of solutions. Assist with project documentation and status reports.
  • Testing and Validation: Develop test plans and cases to ensure that the implemented solutions meet business requirements and quality standards. Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and gather feedback.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between business units and technical teams. Facilitate communication and resolve any issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements and recommend solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Documentation: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for all systems and processes, including user guides, training materials, and system configurations.
